Local Suppliers

Not only is our food at The Beach House prepared freshly on site, but the tasty ingredients are locally sourced too, promoting seasonality and quality. Our bar is all about strengthening and celebrating community through fantastic food and drink, and that extends across the region; so what better way that to support Sussex producers and suppliers?

Food

Our famous sharing boards and toasted sandwiches are enhanced an enormous amount thanks to the love and care put in to suppling cheese from across the south by the passionate people at The Cheeseman in Hove. Sussex Charmer is among our favourites, which is available as part of a sharing platter and made using the milk of welfare assured, grass fed cows at Pallinghurst Farm in Rudgewick.

We’re by the sea, so of course fresh fish is a big feature on our menu, and we’re proud to get this from Brighton and Newhaven Fish Sales in Shoreham, who provide us with day-caught, local fish and shellfish from their fleet of boats. All of their fish is caught within set quotas, so they can guarantee that their fish is sustainable and caught within European catch regulations.

The supply of meat we entrust to Ashley Beaken, owner of Ashley James Meat Company. He sources only the best products from Smithfield Market; he’s why our steaks always taste so good!

Our baked treats, including cakes and the artisan bread for our sandwiches and sharing boards are from The Real Patisserie , whose delicious good include sourdough bread, ciabattas, and seeded loaves, all made just along the coast in Hove. TG Fruits provides us with fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables.

For any else, we pop to Adam’s Wholesale in Worthing, who we know quality control all deliveries, ensuring freshness for our customers.

Drink

This emphasis on local suppliers extends to the beers we serve and the wines we pour. Our lineup of local beers in always rotating, ensuring we serve brews from a range of traditional and craft ales from breweries across Sussex. These include Bedlam Brewery, Harveys, Burning Sky, Arundel Brewery, Longman Brewery, Dark Star Brewery, and Goldmark Brewery.

Sussex wine suppliers are also a passion of ours. This includes Hennings Wine and Gusto Wines, respected Sussex based wine suppliers who source and supply only the best reds, whites, rosés, champagnes and sparkling wines. We’re very proud to have wine and champagne made right here in Sussex as part of our wine list including Ridgeview Wine’s rich, dry Bloomsbury. Based in Ditchling, near Brighton, Ridgeview produces sparkling wines right here in Sussex, in their winery nestled at the foot of the South Downs. Their wines have gained world class reputation, and have won many national and international medals and trophies.  Bloomsbury is their signature blend, and perfect accompaniment to shellfish, which suits us down to the ground here by the sea!

There’s also a citrusy white on offer from Beacon Down, based in Heathfield. Beacon Down is a small producer. Bacchus is citrus dominated, and goes well with goats cheese, cheese salads, and even fish and chips!
