The Beach House Tide of Light Menu

Burgers, chips, and mulled wine!

Last month we announced that we were proud to be sponsoring this year’s Tide of Light festival, taking place around Worthing on Sunday 5th November. Now we can reveal the special menu that will be on offer on the night – featuring some special snacks for the occasion!

If you’re looking to fuel up for a night of waving lanterns aloft and getting maximum fun out of the funfair, we’ve got our famous burgers, and a great selection of homemade main meals. For those heading out to ‘oooh’ and ‘ahhh’ over the fireworks and want something to snack on at the same time, we’ve got cones of chips, cheesy chips, and cheesy chips with chorizo! In the interests of warming up, we’ll have mulled wine and cider served on the terrace, too.

We know lots of little ones will be heading into town with you on the night, so as usual our kids menu will be on hand to fill smaller tummies.

It’s important to note that we won’t be taking bookings for 5th November – tables will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

See the whole menu below…

The Beach House is Proud to Sponsor Tide of Light 2017!

The Beach House is a headline sponsor of 2017’s Tide of Light

We’re big supporters of anything that brings our town alive, and there’s no better example of this than Tide of Light. Taking place on 5th November, this fun, free firework festival and lantern parade happens right on our doorstep, with lantern making, the parade itself, a fun fair, food market, live entertainment, and of course, and spectacular firework display to top the evening off. It’s grown in popularity over the last few years, with a 35,000 people attending last year, making it one of the most exciting events in Worthing’s calendar.

Tide of Light relies on the generosity of local businesses, which is why we’re so proud to be a headline sponsor. We share this title with our sister bar, The Corner House, and it is our absolute pleasure to support such a well loved local event. On the night itself, The Beach House will of course be throwing it’s doors open, welcoming festival-goers of all ages, whether it’s for one of our famous burgers to set you up for the evening, a glass of fine wine, or a pint of local ale (although those last two options can be swapped for a tasty soft drink so firework fans under 18!) We love meeting so many Worthing people on the night, and, of course, we’ve got the best seat in the house for the fireworks, which are set off from the end of the pier.

For more information on what’s happening on the night, visit tideoflight.co.uk, and make sure you pop the date in your diary; it’s going to be a fantastic night!

Party at The Beach House this Christmas

The Beach House provides the perfect party venue hire in Worthing

With a stylish interior, a well stocked bar, and a buzzing atmosphere, The Beach House has long been a popular choice for party venue hire in Worthing. As we head towards the winter months, those get togethers with friends become all important, especially with Christmas coming, so consider our seafront bar the ideal spot.

ew_9796-copyThrough summer, our seafront deck is well loved for meeting with friends and family for food and drinks in the sunshine, but during the colder months, it can be harder to all meet up in one place. Hiring The Beach House for an evening makes this easy, with the large area to the rear of the bar sectioned off for you and your party. Of course, one of the main advantages of using The Beach House as your venue is that you’ll have access to our well stocked bar, meaning you can make the most of our local ales, continental lagers, and our extensive choice of spirits. We do cocktails too! There’s also our kitchen for delicious homemade food, and our friendly staff are on hand to cater to your needs.

If you’re thinking of organising a get together with your friends and family, contact us at The Beach House to find out about our party venue hire in Worthing. Get in touch on 01903 367313 or beachhouseworthing@gmail.com.

#StrawsSuck – Say Hello to Paper Straws at The Beach House

The Beach House is proud to be one of the first places to eat in Worthing to ditch plastic straws

When you’re sipping on that well earned gin and tonic at the end of week at The Beach House, it probably hasn’t occurred to you that there’s a large number of people around you doing the same thing – and they’ve all got straws in their drinks. This is happening every day of the week, which means thousands and thousands of plastic straws are getting used – and the environmental impact adds up. Well, no longer, as far as we’re concerned – we’ve banished plastic straws in favour of a much more eco-friendly alternative!

Like other small pieces of plastic waste, straws can make their way into our rivers and oceans easily, causing havoc for marine life. A Gaurdian article recently reported that “Most plastic packaging items are used only once before being discarded, and globally only 14% of plastic packaging is collected for recycling. The remainder gets incinerated, landfilled or worse, with more than 30% leaking out into the environment. If nothing changes, there could be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2050.” This is pretty scary, and we wanted to do our bit to reduce our use of single-use plastic items, which naturally led us to the replacement of our straws.

These new paper alternatives can go straight into the recycling, just as paper does in an office. They’re not boring bog standards ones either – they pretty cool, if we do say so ourselves? Both The Beach House and its sister bar The Corner House will be using these straws instead of plastic ones. We’re very pleased with them – come and give them a try! We’ve got a large gin selection, if you needed an excuse…

Sharing is Caring at our Restaurant in Worthing

Sharing platters are always popular at our restaurant in Worthing

ew_9447-copyWhether it’s friends getting together, a romantic evening for two, or just a family who love to graze, our sharing platters always go down a storm at our restaurant in Worthing. Getting together for food is obviously a big part of this attraction, as picking at some delicious meats, cheeses, breads, olives and seafood while you’re having a chat is just the perfect way to spend an evening, it’s also down to our fantastic ingredients – all sourced from local suppliers!

Our famous sharing boards and toasted sandwiches are enhanced an enormous amount thanks to the love and care put in to suppling cheese from across the south by the passionate people at The Cheeseman in Hove. Sussex Charmer is among our favourites, which is available as part of a sharing platter and made using the milk of welfare assured, grass fed cows at Pallinghurst Farm in Rudgewick. The meat that accompanies these glorious cheeses on our meatboards, and in other areas of our menu (like our famous burgers, steak frites dish, and in our sandwiches) is from John Wildman and Sons just a stones throw from us in Portland Market, Worthing.

Our baked treats, including cakes and the artisan bread for our sandwiches and sharing boards are from The Real Patisserie , whose delicious good include sourdough bread, ciabattas, and seeded loaves, all made just along the coast in Hove. We’re particularly partial to bread and olives!

Whether it’s a starter, or just something to nibble on while you’re catching up with loved ones, our sharing platters are a delicious addition to our menu at our restaurant in Worthing. Come and try them for yourself!

Some Sparkly New Additions to The Beach House Website

We’re excited to reveal brand new photos, a video and gift vouchers!

ew_9765-copy-1It’s been a little while since we saw the finishing touches on our website, so its been a lot of fun to give everything a bit of a refresh with some brand new photos, as well as an impressive new video! With the help of our marketing friends at Hit Refresh, and talented local photographer Ed Watts, we’ve got a selection of media that really shows off The Beach House at it’s best. You can now also buy gift vouchers for The Beach House and our sister bar, The Corner House – find out more here.

The photos were taken across two shoots, with the first focusing on the food. We wanted some of our most popular dishes to show off their best side, including fish and chips, steak frites, and of course, our famous burgers. Our sharing platters, pork pie, kids menu options, and the classic fish finger sandwich also got a look in, as well as some trendy interior shots, and plenty of attention paid to our extensive selection of drinks.

The second shoot focused more on our beautiful seafront deck, which on the night we chose, like any sunny summers evening on our terrace, was full of happy people enjoying themselves. We’re so pleased to have captured a slice of life at The Beach House, and have it immortalised not only in images, but in an exciting video too.

Hit Refresh’s videographer Gary was on hand on both shoots too, which has resulted in a very exciting video that we think sums up The Beach House perfectly

This media has definitely enhanced our website, and anyone who has ‘liked’ The Beach House on Facebook should expect to see the gorgeous pictures popping up on our posts from now on!
